Sculpd Air-dry clay is naturally porous and may absorb water even after drying. Painting and varnishing your piece will protect it against moisture absorption. It’s important to make sure all surfaces are covered when you varnish so that water cannot enter.

We do not advise you to make pieces for outdoor decoration; this is because of the often rapid temperature changes and general harsh conditions can cause your piece to crack or become damaged more easily.
